Air Traffic Control (ATC) controller-pilot communications
Modern aircraft have dedicated systems for handling the communication between flight crew and air traffic control towers. Such systems allow digital messages to be sent between controllers and pilots, avoiding the need for radiotelephony. The communications include air traffic control clearances, pilot requests and position reporting. Depending on aircraft, various cockpit display units (DUs: DCDU, MCDU) enable the flight crew to read and answer the controller–pilot communications messages received from the ground.
CS GROUP – ROMANIA has participated to the development, maintenance and validation of such communication systems for various Airbus aircraft range.
