Golden Ears Bridge tolling is a fully electronic Toll Collection System (TCS), designed to allow drivers to cross the bridge and pay the toll without stopping or slowing down.
Instead of toll booths, electronic sensors and digital cameras identify the type of vehicle and license plate number, and detect whether or not the vehicle has a transponder. The sensor and photographic data are used to ensure the applicable toll is collected from the vehicle owner, for each use of the bridge.
The Back-Office is the main component of the complete turn-key solution supplied to operate the Golden Ears Bridge Toll Collection System. The solution package is made up of several interconnected applications, built using Microsoft .NET enteprise servers and technologies, from which CS GROUP – ROMANIA had a major contribution to:
